Sorry sgrayban,

The OTA will take longer. The process of putting this together has been challenging. The earliest we can do it would be 1-2 Months from when we actually start.

Regards,
Carm.

Oh well -- the online guides were nice while I had them -- I'll be off to buy a hard copy subscription to TV Guide now.

Hi All,

Status Update:

1 - CT TV Listings Beta 8 is available. For the most part it reset your trial period.
2 - Web interface for creating and managing accounts is coming soon.
3 - Linux version of CT TV Listings is taking longer than expected. We are trying to get a beta out be the end of this week.

Regards,
Carm.

I just spent a lot of time selecting channels from a particular lineup (only selected a fraction of the 1000 channels) and it looks like the zap2it xml file still has all the channels (not just the ones I selected). I thought this was supposed to work. Did I do something incorrectly? Is there a way I can just modify a file on my system so the beta sees my list. Otherwise, I have to go back in and select a few hundred channels again and that is not fun.

I just redid this by hand for the Dish Austin feed at 78726 and it looks like it did save some checkboxes correctly but the GUI shows many channels with no channel/station name so I am guessing the code is messed up. When I go back after redoing it a second time, the wrong checkboxes are checked in many cases and like I said many of the channel numbers have blank space next to them instead of the channel/station name. So there might be an offset problem. Let me know when this is fixed since at this point, the channels I get back are pretty random and not the ones I selected.

By the way, one other lineup seems fine but it has less than 100 channels and I only unchecked 9 channels.

Hi bsr123,

I'll have a look at this. It is possible that an incorrect stat-id can cause this kind of issue. I'll get back to you some time today.

Carm.

Does this mean you have a working Linux client?

What about Canadian listings or is it just US only ?

With so much going on, we've had limited resources to apply to the Linux app. The main problem is no one here has ever developed for Linux before. In the end a Linux app will be developed, but it may not matter too much. This is because we will have web browser support by the end of this week. Similar to what you had with Labs.Zap2it except that you will also be able to download your listing. We are also going to provide the means for approved Open source and Free to use apps to directly download listings from us.

That would certainly make it harder Smile

Ahhh ok, so I can make a simple webcall and grab the listings (in xml form) that way? Cool.

What kind of restrictions are there now? Can I use the listings with any App I have access too or only non commercial programs?

I guess I should ask the other question on my mind. I've built many a pvr system for people over the years and sold it to them(the box and my effort to configure, not the listings). Can I do that and point them at your service or is that a grey area ?

Cool. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Thanks!

Only Open source of Free to use software.

If you are building PVR boxes using free software and selling them as a package then the answer is no. This would violate the subscriber agreement. Now if you build and sold a computer, The buyer could use our service with any software that meets the criteria even if you advised them. What it comes down to is are you selling and does the buyer expect a standalone computer or is it a ready to go PVR system. Kind of like Tivo, which is a computer serving as PVR/DVR appliance.
