Thanks to both you guys I found this bug. A fixed version is now ready for downloading. Aube_1 I know you're having a problem with the uninstaller so I also put the dll file in the download area. You can grab it here My Weather Dll . Put this file in the My Weather folder and give it a try.

TheCoder,

I've tried what you said by adding the file weather.dll and tried to uninstall but still no luck. I always get the error:

SSE uninstall Module error. The Uninstall definition file for the program you wish to uninstall could not be found or accessed. Your program cannot be uninstalled.

I'm still puzzled!!

Hi aube_1,

I repackaged the plugin using winrar. See if this works for you. It assumes CTpvr is installed on your C drive and in its default location. Click yes to overwrite all the existing files.

Hi Carm,

I've tried the repackaged plugin and it installed perfectly without any glitches. The plugin works but the only thing I still can't do is an uninstall of that plugin, I always get that SSE uninstall module error. It's kind of a problem, if a new update for that plugin comes out and I can't uninstall the old one.

Its good to know it is now working Very Happy . I am sure there is a workaround for the installer problem. When I get a chance I'll search for a fix. Maybe I need to switch to a different installer Confused .

I am the author of SSE Setup, the program you used.

2 things:

1) The only way you can get that uninstall error msg is if the "SSEun.dat" file which is automatically generated upon install cannot be found. And the only time that I have ever seen that happen is if the user deletes that file (i.e. trying to manually delete by deleting all files in the installation folder instead of running the uninstall). This is no different from almost all other installers. To my knowledge, there are no bugs of this nature in regards to the uninstaller. This same uninstall procedure has been in place since v1.0 of SSE Setup and I have not ever heard of any problems of this sort that weren't attributed to this reason.

2) These plugin packages are in violation of the SSE Setup license agreement, because they violate this portion of the license: "SSE Setup is completely free for distribution with non-commercial FREE programs AS LONG AS they are created by you the user and are not in any way tied to a company or business."

These are tied to a company or business, namely Computer Time CO because they are in primary support of Computer Time's commercial CT-PVR product and are promoted and listed on the CT-PVR site.

You will need to either purchase a license or cease usage of SSE Setup and remove the offending plugin packages.

Sincerely,

Chris Long

Hi Chris,

I will email TheCoder to see if he owns a license to your software. If not, I may consider buying the license if I feel the product is worth the money. I have not yet to try your packager since I would normally use winrar to package Themes, Plugins etc.

I will give it a try tonight.

Regards,
Carm.

Thank you - I see that both packages have been repackaged using a different program.

Hello
I been using your plugin for a couple of weeks now. I noticed the feels like temp under current always matches the actual temp. At first I thought it could be right but now after two weeks I think it might be a bug. By the way thanks for all your work on this plugin.

If you are asking about the download location it can be found in the first post of this thread. Carm has also added it to the download section of the CTpvr web site.

But here it is to save you some trouble: My Weather

If what you are asking is "Where is the fix, I do not see it?". It depends on the city. I live in Yonkers NY and the actual is almost alway what MSN has for the feels like. That is why I never noticed there was a problem.

I did download the new plugin version, but it seams to me that the feels like temp is still the same as the real temp. i have tried three different cities around the world and the temps are always the same.

The plugin gets the weather information from MSN. You can try this link and change the city code "USNY0996" to your zip code.

http://www.msnbc.com/m/chnk/d/weather_d_src.asp?acid=USNY0996

this.swTemp = Current temp
this.swReal = Feels like temp
In my case these numbers are always the same. Making it a MSN data issue.
