Hi everyone
Requires CTpvr 1.15B03 or greater.
Updated November 10, 2005
Download plugin: My Weather
Installing and setup is real easy. Run the downloaded file and follow the prompts. After installing it you have to enable the plugin under CTpvr manger's settings. Adding new locations is all menu driven in the main screen. If you do not find your city listed. You can added your zip code manually to the config.ini file under the My Weather plugin folder.
I hope you all like it
Sim

Looking good ... do you have any other plugins in mind ? How about one that will work with a popular burning software (Nero) and burn dvds and cds of your recorded shows. Iv seen several software packages use the Nero core to burn DVDs, so maybe that can be a possibility.
Well any way keep up the good work. _________________ They call him ... Weamo |

I have not yet thought of any other plugin except for maybe a ripper. I'll consider other ones once I have this one released and debugged . Carm told me he might release a new beta this sunday that may include the plugin core. If he does I'll release this weather plugin soon there after.

The layout is a mix between the GB-PVR and XLobby weather plugins. There are really not to many ways to lay things out for use on a tv. I had to write this using the older VS6 C++ skills since carm has not created the library for C# for the .Net world yet. Otherwise I would have love to barrow some of the code from the GB-PVR plugin which I will say is very nicely done.

Hi Simon,
I sent you an email but thought I should post since its late. I just released v1.15B03 with the plugins feature enabled. I guess any time you want to release your plugin feel free to do so. The email also has your FTP password just in case.
Regards,
Carm. |

Way 2 go thanks . I'll be attaching the link to the download at the top of this thread. It would be good to have a central place for plugin downloads, info and such. I manage to get the animated maps to work. You should check out the latest one carm.

I was really surprised when trying this plugin that I had no problems. Being that this is the first plugin for ctpvr. My compliments to all involved. I must admit I was starting to use other pvr packages because it was not capable of using plugins. As one of ctpvr biggest fans I'll see about getting the word out on your plugin and this beta.
Sim after trying your work on this you should really work on some other ones. May I suggest somethings like photos, rss feeds, internet radio, video data download and such. |

I say we need something that will burn shows you record directly from CTpvr using engines like nero and such. _________________ They call him ... Weamo |

Update to My Weather plugin
Fixed a bug where the displaying of the map stopped working.
Fixed a bug when a map was not found the menu would not reappear.
I have not decided what to work on next. I like some of the ideas posted but I'm not really sure if they are the types of project I can take on. 2 or 3 weeks from now I should have more time to decide what to work on next. I'll keep you posted.

Under the CT PVR program group in under Window's start programs you will see the plugins group. In there you will see the weather plugin's group then the uninstall shortcut. If that does not work you should install it again then try to uninstall.
You can also remove it by deleting the My Weather folder from under the plugins folder of CTpvr.
By the way is the plugin screwing anything up or are you just looking to be rid of it?

TheCoder
I've tried the uninstall in the plugins group and it won't uninstall, I get this message "SSE uninstall module error". I've tried installing it again but this message appears " This program appears to already have been installed on your computer. You must first uninstall the program before re-install it."
I've tried this plugin but it doesn't do anything. I've tried the plugin setup menu and I get the message "setup is not required". I'm running the latest CTpvr 1.15 b3. I'd really like to make it work.

Hi aube_1,
In the manager settings did you enable the plugin by checking the enabled checkbox?
Once enabled you should see the plugin under the "My Plugins" menu in CTpvr. If you are using the Lavender theme and you do not see the My Plugins menu item. Download the updated Lavender theme which now includes the My Plugins menu item. Once the plugin is running, it is pretty easy from there.

Carm,
Well, in the manager settings the plugin is checked to enabled. I do have the latest Lavender Theme and when I go to the My Plugins menu then to My Weather, here what happens: "CTtv has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Hi aube_1,
It seems that the updated version of the My Weather plugin is broken. I ran it just now and it worked. So I decided to run from a clean install and it crashed like you said.
I sent an email to Simon(TheCoder) explaining the problem. There is a quick way around that issue if you want to try it. You need to create the file "config.ini" in the My Weather plugin's folder. Add the two line shown below but change out the zip code for yours. Save it and you should be ready to go.
[City Codes]
1=12555 <-- Change this zip code to yours
I'm pretty sure Simon will have a fix coming soon.
Regards,
Carm. |
